Located in a calm area, friendly staff, everything was excellent, met all expectations, highly recommend this place.

the entire hotel was impeccably clean, clean and cosy rooms. all the staff was welcoming and greeted us warmly. the location in the middle of the city was marvellous and particularly good for us. and it was also near the town centre, downtown and restaurant.

The owner was incredibly accommodating and went out of his way to ensure our comfort. The rooms, although simple, provided a cozy and comfortable space for us to unwind after a long day. The breakfast spread was delightful, with an abundance of fresh and delicious bread rolls that we couldn't get enough of. The hotel also provided ample parking options, which was convenient for our family.

For dads, it would be great to have some additional entertainment options for kids.

the owner at gasthof schmitt made our stay in merzig even better than before! the beds were incredibly comfy, the shower was decent, and the quiet location was perfect. and don't get me started on the breakfast - it was excellent, especially the homemade bread and delicious salmon with caviar. we wish we could have stayed even longer!

As trekkers and a group of friends, we loved the comfortable and modest rooms, the delicious breakfast, and the warm welcome from the owner. The staff provided great recommendations and we enjoyed our visit to Klex bar and restaurant in town. The owner even allowed us to store our bicycles in his garage.

There were some negative aspects to our stay. we were disappointed to discover that the private bathroom did not include a toilet, and we had to use a shared toilet in the hallway.

Everything about it was more than great. The place was beautiful, clean, and smelled like fresh flowers. We had the best time for 6 days and didn't want to leave. The breakfast was glorious and delicious, with amazing options like salmon and caviar, and homemade garlic bread with truffles. Plus, the location was perfect for visiting Trier Theatre, which was only 43 km away.

If there was one thing we could ask for, it would be more options for evening entertainment. As young, party-loving teenagers, it would have been awesome to have some fun activities or events at the hotel itself.
